Tortoise v Hare

One of my favorite assignments in my first semester at CCS was crafting a story around the fable the tortoise and the hare.  But where's the fun in telling the same story already known?  What if...the tortoise and the hare were done in steampunk style? What if...there was more to the story than we know?
